Godly Play
Godly Play is different from a lot of other children’s programs.  From the start of the children entering the room, their sacred space, the setting is structured and calm.  The Leader welcomes the children at the door and everyone sits together on the floor in a circle.

The Story Teller then accounts the Bible lesson using visual aids and movements while telling the story “in the Godly Play language”.  After the story the children are asked “Wondering Questions”, which is unique to the Godly Play program. A Wondering Question is a question that does not necessarily have a “right” or “wrong” answer, nor does the question have to be answered out loud.  The question helps to lead in thought and discussion.  An example of one of our most common Wondering Questions is “I Wonder… where do you see yourself in this story”.  If the student wishes to answer out loud they are welcomed to, or they can keep it to themselves and ponder on it.

After the story time the students engage in Response Time by completing activities of their choice.  They choose how they wish to respond to the story, whether through arts and crafts or play or even discussion.  After Response Time, the group reunites to enjoy The Feast for the day and wrap up.

We are continuing our Narnia-themed series with the next book, "The Silver Chair" by C. S. Lewis.

This years story is about a mission of mercy that sends two children on a quest to another land. Eustace and Jill are two misfit schoolchildren who discover that a garden shed on the school's grounds is actually a gateway to the magical land of Narnia. Eustance had visited Narnia years before, and is troubled to discover King Caspian has aged considerably. Caspian is troubled by the disappearance of his son, Prince Rilian who had been kidnapped years earlier. With the help of the King's helper, Puddlegum, and the enchanted lion, Aslan, Eustace and Jill set out to find the lost prince and reunite him with his father.
